Green infrastructure for water includes a range of approaches from ecosystem conservation, through ecological agriculture and forestry (agro-ecosystems), to low impact development and green or ecological engineering solutions. Water resource management portfolios that include robust green infrastructure can be more cost-effective and resilient to natural and economic shocks and can provide a multitude of environmental and social co-benefits.
