Community outreach and stakeholder involvement

Summary

The THINKAlex Resiliency Plan brought together technical experts and the Alexandria community to identify assets and challenges, the envisioned future of Alexandria, and to propose resilient planning solutions.

The planning process was iterative. Each planning meeting built on work accomplished during previous meetings and was augmented by online engagement. There were four rounds of Neighborhood Meetings comprised of two meetings each. These Neighborhood Meetings focused on community needs. In addition, three Citywide Meetings were held, during which citizens exchanged ideas with one another and interacted with Land Use, Housing, and Transportation experts.
