Toolkit
Summary
Community engagement is key for empowerment in low-income communities, especially for women.
Inspired by the multiple projects aiming to empower women through engagement as well as knowledge on social networks, community development and human-centered design, a toolkit was developed for training bindis (‘community concierge”). This toolkit provides steps and guidelines to identify and train women in a community in order for them to develop their own skills – communication, leadership, health and technical skills to develop a business – as well as to engage with the rest of the communities. The tool kit is playing an integral part in the current pilot project in Kathmandu.
