Community based resilient housing

New development that respects local differences in climate, history, and building practice can add to the experience of any community for both visitors and locals alike. The Town of Jean Lafitte seeks to build housing that is both meant to withstand possible shocks and stresses while also maintaining the feel of this unique community. The cabins will be designed so that finished floors are above base flood elevation to reduce the risk of flooding. Additionally, the space underneath can be used as storage, parking, or as a front porch to cook or look out across the bayou.
