Implementing Auxiliary Community Programs

Summary

The Shelby Country NRDC resiliency program understands that physical resiliency improvements to country infrastructure and floodplain are only one half of any thorough upgrade. In addition to this, social resiliency projects must be woven into the greater solution. This can take may different forms. In areas where new spaces are being designed, plans have been laid out to create community spaces such as farmers markets and a music festival space. New housing developments will provide crucial housing capacity for residents participating in a voluntary housing buyout program for low-laying residences. There will also be entrepreneur and job training in green infrastructure to ensure that residents know how to make the most out of new physical upgrades.
